Compliance training is still a mainstay of HR and L&D. Yet to many who are asked to complete it, its just that – something to complete. The criticism of compliance training doesn’t end there, be it face-to-face or elearning, many see it as just a check the box activity designed to protect the organization from litigation rather than drive real behavior change.
Of course not all compliance training efforts are insincere. Safety is never taken lightly, be it online related or physical, organizations want their employees to be able to work without personal risk. So who is getting compliance training right? Is it really a training solution or are there other, better ways to help people stay compliant for their own as well as the organization’s benefit? And how do we overcome the stigma of compliance training being dreadful?
