#GuildChat for 7/31/15: Non-learning Technology for Learning

Our next #GuildChat takes place Friday, July 31st at 11am PT / 2pm ET. Our topic for this week’s chat is on the Non-Learning Technology  Used for Learning.

Learning is happening everywhere and technology is exposing this reality more and more each day. There are technologies specifically designed to augment learning, technologies like Rapid eLearning development tools, storyboarding software, Webinar platforms and screen sharing software. However tools designed specifically for learning are not the only ones helping individuals and organizations improve their understanding and practice, far from it.2015-01-09_11-14-16

Join us this week as we explore the tools and technologies designed for areas such as communication, marketing, presentations, and editing, etc that are being used in unique and powerful ways to aid in formal, informal and social learning.

Here are the questions being posed in the chat:

Q1. What technologies have you used to aid your own learning that weren’t designed for learning purposes? #GuildChat

Q2. What non-learning technologies are being used in your organization to support learning and performance? #GuildChat

Q3. When might we choose a non-learning technology over one designed for learning purposes? #GuildChat

Q4. What useful features of the non-learning technologies you use would you like to see added to learning technologies.? #GuildChat

Q5. How is non-learn tech for learning received by leaders, L&D, learners in orgs? #GuildChat

Q6. What challenges get in the way of learning professionals using non-learning technologies as part of their efforts? #GuildChat

Q7. How can we promote non-learning technology uses to solve performance problems? #GuildChat
